EL SUMARIO 18/98 ES EL DISPARADOR Con ser tan bestial y evidentemente fascista como es, el cierre de EGIN y EGIN IRRATIA no es un hecho aislado. Se inscribe en el Sumario 18/98 que maneja e inventa como una mala novela el juez de la Audiencia Nacional Baltasar Garzón. Y que es el disparador del POGROMO desencadenado por el Gobierno de España contra la izquierda abertzale vasca. El delirio de Garzón, convertido en sumario judicial, fabula que ETA abarca (e integra en sí misma) a toda la izquierda abertzale vasca (cerca de medio millón de personas). Por eso, según Garzón, el sumario 18/98 comenzó el 27 y 28 de mayo de 1998 atacando "al aparato financiero de ETA" centrado en la empresa Gadusmar de Bermeo, dedicada a la importación y exportación de bacalao y material relacionado con la pesca. Continuó el 15 de julio de 1998 atacando "al periódico y la radio de ETA" (EGIN y EGIN IRRATIA). Siguió en marzo de 1999 atacando "al aparato internacional de ETA" (XAKI), denominado también por Garzón, en un segundo asalto del 29 de enero de 2000,"el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de ETA". Se prolongó el 13 de septiembre del 2000 atacando "al aparato político de ETA" (EKIN).Se alargó el 5 de octubre del 2000 atacando «al mecanismo de apantallamiento y control del movimiento popular" (Fundación Joxemi Zumalabe, Autodeterminazioaren Biltzarrak-ABK- y Bai Euskal Herriari). Siguió el 22 de noviembre del 2000 atacando a AEK (Coordinadora de Alfabetización y Euskaldunización) y Galgaraka SL «como entidades integradas en el frente de masas de ETA y el frente o entramado económico y financiero de ETA". Y se ha culminado, hasta ahora, atacando el 6 de marzo de 2001 "a las juventudes y la vanguardia de ETA" (HAIKA). Todos estos ataques, todo este auténtico POGROMO que criminaliza y persigue arbitraria y anticonstitucionalmente a decenas y decenas de miles de personas, reúnen tres rasgos comunes: ausencia de pruebas, irregularidades flagrantes en el procedimiento jurídico y evidencia del impulso político por el Gobierno de España.. Por eso hemos ampliado esta Sección de la RED VASCA ROJA, originalmente dedicada a la denuncia del fascista cierre de EGIN y EGIN IRRATIA, para recoger en ella los diversos aspectos del POGROMO, del sumario 18/98. |

July 15th, in the
early morning, numerous police units assaulted the printing and all the editors
offices of the basque independentist journal and radio 'egin' on behalf of the special
judge Garzón, who ordered their indefinite closure and the arrest of 11 workers and other
people related to the journal, under the accusation of collaborating with ETA. Several
tons of papers and computers were also confiscated. The spanish fascist government of M. Aznar has proven again to be the real heir of the former dictator Franco. Continuous violations of the humans rights, torture, political murder and arbitrary emprisonments are the instruments of the state terrorism which they use to try to break down the massive claim of the basque people for a politically negotiated solution in peace and selfdetermination. Now, they even try to silence one of its most powerful voices, 'egin'. 'egin', which just celebrated it's 20th anniversary, is one of the very few progressive, engaged and independent journals in Europe. We call the international community to strongly protest against this incredible barbarian act against the basic right of free expression. Write to the spanish embassy in your country and to your preferred newspaper, manifest your solidarity ... Today is our turn, tomorrow it may be yours! |
